Amala-spot

I don’t believe people who say they hate amala. Why? Because hate is a strong word. They only dislike it and that’s probably because they have not tasted the real thing. It is very likely that they went to one of these modern fast foods and ordered for amala and then came on X to start calling it basic.

We rise by lifting others. But why are we blacks putting down black amala? Where is the lifting? This is becoming political, so I rest my case.

Amala is a 10 out of 10 meal and if you’d like to see for yourself then check out these 6 spots to eat Amala in Ibadan. Yes, you read right! The best amala in Nigeria can be found in IB City. These amala spots in Ibadan did not come to play and they even have reviews on Google to verify it. Book your next trip to Ibadan and check out these places.

Thuraya Food Center

With over 500 reviews on Google, it’s best if we let the reviews do the talking.

“If I was asked to name the best Àmàlà joints in Ibadan, Thuraya Food Center would surely be on my list of first 5. The footfall here is so high that you would be dragging plates with other customers if you are not quick enough. Their Àmàlà is so soft and light, and the taste of their ewedu and gbegiri is out of this world. It is also friendly for kids and for a family’s eat out days.”

“Better amala joint. Their amala is top notch! Service is not so great… but you know what they say, ‘rudeness is one of the ingredients of a delicious local food’ 😂”

Really, though, why are some amala sellers so rude? 😂

Thuraya Food Center is located opposite Real Choice Hotel, Yemetu, Ibadan.

I came to Ibadan to work for a few hours, and requested to eat Amala; Iya Adija Eatables was the plug. The setting of this Amala joint was local just like most other Amala joints. It was a bit crowded (late afternoon), and there was a queue to get served; but it was worth the wait. The food was tasty and I enjoyed myself. One surprising thing that beat my expectation was the neatness of the restroom here. I will definitely visit again.”

“I love the fact that by 8pm I can still get my amala hot with gbegiri and Ewedu, that’s my major addiction to this place. Considering all the different factors, their food is tasty.”
