June 2024 will be a month for prequels, sequels and, even fourquels.

Ever wondered about the backstory of the alien invasion horror movie, A Quiet Place? Well, get ready because a prequel starring Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn will be released this month.

If you enjoyed Pixar’s Inside Out, then you’ll most likely love Inside Out 2. Watch out for the new emotions, people! Our Riley is now a teenager. If you’re a teenager, you’d totally relate to this animated movie and if you’re an adult, it’ll definitely remind you of your teenage years.

When the last Bad Boys movie was released we were told a Part 4 would be in the works. Well, you need not wait any longer because it’s here already. So what will you be watching on June 7?

Enough preambling, let’s check out our list of top 5 movies in June 2024.

A Quiet Place: Day One

Personally, this is one of the major movies in June 2024 that I’m looking forward to. A Quiet Place: Day One, shows what happened on the first day that alien creatures attacked Earth. They came to New York City and caused chaos, attacking anything that made noise.

This movie is a prequel, which means it happens before the other movies in the series. It has a great cast, including Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou, and Denis O’Hare.

It follows a character named Sam (played by Lupita Nyong’o) who is visiting New York City when the aliens attack. She teams up with a man named Eric (played by Joseph Quinn) to try to survive.

Because the movie takes place at a different time and place, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski don’t appear in it. However, Djimon Hounsou returns as the mysterious “Man on the Island” from the previous movie.

Directed by Michael Sarnoski, it is set to be released on June 28, 2024.

Banel & Adama

Banel and Adama, a couple living in a small village in northern Senegal share a deep love, but their happiness is disrupted by Adama’s mother. She insists that Banel (Khady Mane) conform to traditional village customs.

Banel rebels, and the couple dreams of a new life together. However, a severe drought hits, and Adama (Mamadou Diallo) questions whether his refusal to become village chief has brought a curse.

Banel’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic as the situation worsens, and she engages in bizarre rituals and lashes out at those around her. It’s unclear if her earlier contentment was due to a spell gone wrong or one that has exacted an unforeseen price.

As the situation spirals out of control, Banel’s unwavering love and determination drive her to reclaim what she believes is rightfully hers.

Directed by Ramata-Toulaye Sy, this stunning film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was Senegal’s official Oscar submission. To be released in theaters on Friday, June 7.

Inside Out 2

Movies in June 2024

In Inside Out 2, Riley faces a new chapter in her life as she turns 13. However, her emotional headquarters is suddenly demolished to make way for new emotions, catching Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust off guard. They meet Anxiety, a new emotion carrying a heavy load of emotional baggage.

The gang is unsure about welcoming Anxiety, but they soon discover they’re not the only new additions. Embarrassment, Ennui, and Envy join the mix, shaking up Riley’s emotional landscape.

As Riley navigates adolescence, Anxiety plays a significant role in her journey, causing her to question her identity, relationships, and values.

This leads to experimentation and rebellion, typical of teenage years, which may not sit well with those around her.

Directed by Kelsey Mann, Inside Out 2 is one of the most anticipated movies in June 2024.
